EDUCATION
2012-2017
Bachelor of Art's in Religious Studies
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte
My degree in Religious Studies has opened my eyes to a vast array of cultures, ideas, and lifestyles. Through my studies I have learned how to better approach, receive, and respect people who come from a myriad of backgrounds, while also improving my critical analysis, textual analysis, writing, and public speaking. My degree undoubtedly aided in my desire to continue working in higher education; I want to make sure that safety, validation, and respect of all cultures and backgrounds are given to each student and resident.
2008-2012
High School Diploma
Orange High School
Graduated with a 4.2 GPA following the North Carolina curriculum.
2018-2019
Residence Hall Coordinator of Social Justice
University of North Carolina School of the Arts
As the Residence Hall Coordinator for Social Justice I was instrumental in designing and implementing a culture of inclusion within our residential community. I provided input during several strategic conversations laying the groundwork for what will hopefully become the foundation of a multicultural student center. Through my experience I have supervised and trained various student leaders and created and assessed various multicultural and educational programs within the residential curriculum. I have also facilitated various diversity and inclusion trainings for students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
2017 - 2018
Coordinator of Residence Life and Upperclassmen Initiatives
Coker College, Residence Life
I worked collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and administration to develop, implement, and manage Coker's Resident Assistant program, assist the Director of Residence Life with daily operation of the department, serve as a College Judicial officer and implement and promote weekend programming in the Residence Halls. I also oversaw the upkeep and inventory of the college food pantry, supervised 21 Resident Assistants and served as the chief administrative assistant for the Residence Life office.
August 2014 - May 2017
Resident Advisor
University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Housing and Residence Life
For three years I served as a Resident Advisor for first year students in tower style housing, as well as suite style housing. Working one on one with these students allowed me to utilize every skill, and ideal I value: patience, honesty, inclusiveness, proactive communication, creativity, public speaking, creating interpersonal relationships, and exponential growth in a safe and healthy environment. This was, without a doubt, the best opportunity I have ever had, and solidified my desire for a career in residence life and student support.
